She's 3!!!

Life has been pretty run of the mill lately. Trever works long hours at the boat. I work long hours at home. M she just does her thing. Ok not really she is becoming helpful, sometimes too helpful. This month she's had a pretty great time because she turned 3. I got all teary eyed looking at her baby pictures compared to her today. That is how life goes. Not only is she all grown up, but is getting really good at remembering the important people in her life. There is mom and dad of course. Her daddy is her favorite and he's a boy. Sadly all other males in her life are still girls, something we are working getting right.

Next there is her church mom, also known as Nicole. Nicole is a dear friend. She and her husband sit with us at church. She also babysits for us willingly and often refuses payment. She has literally answered my prayers a time or two when Trever has been gone and M has been testing me extra hard. M has to give Nicole a hug every Sunday and we can't leave until she hugs her goodbye too.

Then there is her "aunty" Beth. Also known as Bef. Marlee loves it when she comes over to play. Of course Beth has been a fixture in M's life since she was about 6 months old. We have strong ties to her family and so she will always be a part of our family and we are super grateful for that.

Now we can't forget M's best little friend ever. L has always loved playing with M and they can be the cutest little pair. At M's birthday party L arrived and the two hugged. It was the cutest thing ever. They talk about each other all the time and we don't go more than a couple days without M asking for L to come and play.

M has also taken a huge liking to her uncle Matt and her Papa. I know that it's because they were here last summer and she remembers Matt driving her and Papa to the beach. When I ask her about mom and dad she says "on daddy bike". Yup we have been banished to the motorcycle because she needs her Matt and Papa. Of course the down side to all this is she wants them around but will also blame them for everything.

We have a map with pictures of our family on it showing where they live. We have started adding friends to help M figure out who people are. We point to the pictures and say the names. M must have a special connection to her Aunt Coco because that is one of the first pictures she could name. Of course it's more of an Aunt Toto right now, but we'll get that C out eventually.

I have to say the first year was hard because well she couldn't do much. Then she walked really early. I was always in damage control/preventative mode. Year two was about the same, but with lots of crying. I had no idea what she wanted and she was slow in talking. She was as active as ever so would cause lots of chaos and cry when I didn't know what she wanted.

Now that she's 3 (ok it started before Christmas) she is talking a lot more. She is also wanting to help with everything. The best part of all is she likes to play by herself at times. She was a cutie when she was tiny, but I am so happy with this little person running around my house discovering her world. It's wonderful.

So Happy Birthday M! May you always dance like no one is watching.
